Men Of SOEs: Pertamina Pelumpang Depot Is Still Operating For The Next Three Years
JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, said that the Oil Fuel Terminal (TBBM) or Depot Partamina Plumpang, in North Jakarta, will certainly continue to operate for the next three years.
"There is still the Plumpang Depot there for the next 3 years," Arya said when met in Sarinah, Central Jakarta, Thursday, March 9.
Arya said that moving the Pertamina Plumpang Depot to a new location requires a long process.
Therefore, there needs to be a buffer zone to maintain the safety of residents around the depot.
"The moving period suddenly just doesn't work. Then what about the residents who live here? It's dangerous, that's why they make buffer zones," he said.
The buffer zone area that will be built by PT Pertamina (Persero) reaches 50 meters from the current TBBM fence.
This distance is also believed to be able to ensure the safety of local residents.
"So we will make a buffer zone 50 meters, because for an important country it is the safety of citizens. The important thing is the lives of citizens. Indeed, we don't know the investigation yet, it's just a danger if it's too tight, then the buffer zone will take care of it," he said.
Regarding the relocation of local residents affected by the construction of the buffer zone, Arya said this was the authority of the DKI Jakarta government.
"We leave it to the local government, because that's their citizen they have to manage. But this vital object must have a buffer zone, if there is no later danger of its citizens, their lives can be threatened every day, no one can guarantee it," he said.
