AG Detained At LPSK, Observer: Detention Of Children Must Be Human

JAKARTA - Child observer and education Retno Listyarti assessed that AG's detention as a child in conflict or in conflict with the law must be human.

He also agreed that AG was detained at the Social Welfare Organizing Agency (LPKS) related to the alleged case of mistreatment of Mario Dandy Satriyo against D (17).

"Seperti keterangan polisi ia ditempatkan di LPKS dan itu sudah benar," kata pemerati anak sekaligus pendidikan Retno Listyarti dikutip ANTARA, Kamis 9 Maret.

Because, said Retno, children who are in conflict with the law of detention should not be mixed with adults. Therefore, the police's steps are considered appropriate.

"The child's detention must be truly human. One must not be mixed with adults," he asserted.

"At LPKS, AG will get psychological companions, including getting other rights such as being visited by families, educational rights and so on," said the former Commissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).

He said that if AG participates in the homeschooling program, the police will not be allowed to carry out inspections until their learning activities are completed or fulfilled.

"So, his rights must be fulfilled. This is stated in the Law on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System," he said.

According to him, the police do not have to investigate AG at the police station because it can be done at LPKS. The goal is so that children who are dealing with the law are not under pressure.

As is known, the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) detained AG in a special room for LPKS children.

"If the consideration of detention is objective and subjective. If it is objective, the penalty is more than five years," said Director of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol. Hengki Haryadi.

Then the subjective reason investigators made arrests to avoid the perpetrators running away, eliminating evidence and repeating their actions.
