Different Views Of KIB Presidential Candidates Broken? PPP Explains Rommy's Personal Statement
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP United Development Party (PPP) Achmad Baidowi said that the statement by the Chairperson of the Advisory Council of PPP Muhammad Romahurmuziy (Rommy) who called the onset of a split in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) was a personal statement that did not represent the party. "We consider it as his ijtihad in enlivening the political issue of this country. It is a personal statement based on his own political intuition," said Baidowi as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday 9 March. The man who is familiarly called Awiek then straightened out that the meeting between Romahurmuziy and the Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto was not an official meeting between the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of PPP with the PDIP DPP. "The meeting of Gus Rommy with PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristianto was an old friend meeting and not an official inter-DPP meeting," he said. He explained that the official meeting of the PPP DPP with the PDIP DPP was scheduled for a long time ago, and the plan was to be held in the near future. "Of course as an informal meeting, then the meeting between Mas Hasto and Gus Rommy was not binding and only became part of the usual political dynamics," he added. A few weeks ago, the chairman of the Advisory Council of PPP M Romahurmuziy or Rommy again mentioned the potential for division in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).
The reason KIB is prone to breaking, according to Rommy, is because of the difference in the names of presidential candidates (candidates) from Golkar, PPP, and PAN. "Today in Pak Airlangga's position, he was pushed until yesterday as a presidential candidate for Golkar officials, Mr. Zul said Mr. Ganjar (presidential candidate)," said Rommy,
