Rubber Factory In Bati-bati South Kalimantan Collapses, 7 Employees Evacuated, 1 Still Trapped

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - A rubber factory in Bati-Bati, Pelaihari District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan (South Kalimantan), collapsed on Thursday, March 9 afternoon.

Bati Police Chief Iptu Samsudi said as many as seven victims of the PT. Kintap rubber factory were successfully evacuated.

"When the employee was resting, suddenly the building collapsed," said the police chief in Pelaihari, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, Thursday, March 9, as reported by Antara.

In the collapse of the building, eight employees were trapped. However, seven people can be evacuated by joint officers.

"Seven people have been evacuated to the puskesmas with minor and serious injuries," said Samsudi.

However, an employee named Muhammad Yunus (23) is still trapped in a collapsed building.

The police chief said that all the victims who had been evacuated had received treatment at the Bati-Bati Health Center, Bentok Health Center, and a number of health service facilities in Banjarmasin.

Samsudin confirmed that the South Kalimantan Police Inafis team investigated the alleged cause of the collapse of the rubber factory building in Bati-Bati.

The joint teams involved in the evacuation were Basarnas, BPBD Tanah Laut, volunteers from the Fire Department, Tanah Laut Fire Department, and Banjar Regency, as well as the South Kalimantan Rescue team.
