Polri Provides Psychological Guidance For SJ-182 Sriwijaya Air Passenger Family
JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters said it would provide psychological assistance to the families of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 passengers that crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.
Police Public Relations Division Karopenmas, Brigadier General Pol Rusdi Hartono, said this assistance was provided so that the passengers' family psychology would not be disturbed.
"We provide guidance to the victim's family so that the victim's family is not psychologically disturbed and can accept the accident," Rusdi told reporters at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Monday, January 11.
He hopes that this psychological guidance can run effectively. So, in the future, the passenger's family can accept the incident that occurred on Saturday, January 9.
"Yes, hopefully everything works effectively to help the victim's family accept the situation and psychology, the victim's family can remain normal," he said.
As previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft on the Jakarta-Pontianak route lost contact in the Thousand Islands shortly after taking off from Soekarno Hatta Airport on Saturday, January 9, 2020.
Furthermore, the authorities said that the plane was confirmed to have crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands or around Lancang Island and Laki Island.
The total aircraft carried 62 people including 12 crew members and 50 passengers. The 50 passengers consisted of 40 adult passengers, seven children and three babies.
Regarding the search for passengers, currently all parties are still doing it. Meanwhile, based on the latest National Police Hospital data today, 16 body bags have been received from the SAR team and the DVI is currently still trying to identify the body parts that were found.
