JAKARTA - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Puspayoga encourages the younger generation, including students, to participate in realizing gender equality. "We hope to revive all components of the nation, especially the younger generation, including students to be able to realize gender equality, encourage women's leadership in various sectors," said the Expert Staff of the Minister of PPPA for Poverty Reduction Titi Eko Rahayu, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 8. Titi read out Minister Bintang Puspayoga's speech at the International Women's Day Seminar entitled "To Protect Women, Realize Gender Equality" said the younger generation was also encouraged to protect women from all forms of violence in the surrounding environment, including the campus environment. International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated to recognize women's achievements around the world in the social, economic, cultural, political fields, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality. Titi said that realizing gender equality, equal opportunities or equal opportunities are no longer sufficient at this time. Moreover, women need global support that actively promote them throughout aspects of life, such as education, job opportunities, health, and leadership.

"The 2023 IWD campaign theme is the Embrace Equity or Justice Confinement, meaning that the world's eyes will be open that the same opportunity is no longer sufficient to realize gender equality," said Titi Eko Rahayu. "The world is also expected to support the elimination of all forms of violence against women, discrimination, stereotypes, subordination, and double burdens," he added.
