Aired On HBO Max, Sex And The City Series Presents A New Story
JAKARTA - The Sex and the City series that debuted in 2004 will return with a new story. Not only that, the four original players are sure to join forces again.
Launching The Hollywood Reporter today, Monday, January 11, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon released the announcement through their social media. This time they are working with HBO Max and the new title is And Just Like That ...
Meanwhile, Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha, will not return for this new series. The reason is, Cattrall is known to have fought with Parker. Cattrall also said he would not join the next Sex and the City franchise.
This latest series tells the lives of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte in their 50s. Production will take place in late spring in New York.
Michael Patrick King is also appointed as producer for the latest series Sex and the City which consists of 10 episodes.
Sex and the City was adapted from an essay by Candice Bushnell which was serialized during 1998 to 2008 on HBO. The series received an Emmy award for Best Comedy Series in 2001.
Sex and the City follows a group of women's friends and their dating life in New York. The series already expands on the story to a prequel film and series format on The CW.
The original creator, Darren Star, admits that he is not interested in the Sex and the City series. Currently, he is focusing on the Netflix series Emily in Paris which is confirmed to have a second season.
Disney + previously carried out the strategy for developing this series by making a spin off of The Mandalorian from Star Wars. HBO Max has not announced when And Just Like That ... will be officially released.
