Interormas Clashes In Banyumas, Police Have Examined 17 Witnesses

JATENG - The police are investigating a case of clashes between community organizations (ormas) that occurred in Keradenan Hamlet, Banteran Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Tuesday, March 7 evening.

"I will explain related to yesterday's incident (March 7), the incident of a fight or clash between unscrupulous members of Pemuda Pancasila and unscrupulous members of the Lowo Ireng Association that occurred in Sumbang District," said Head of Banyumas Police, Police Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu at his office, Wednesday, March 8, confiscated by Antara.

He said the incident began with the work of a playing vehicle project in Sumbang District in February 2023.

Based on information obtained by the Banyumas Police, when the project took place, there were dozens of lands that hit the residents' pools, so there was a problem between Imam as the project owner and local residents.

"The information we have received has been agreed that the loss will be reimbursed so that yesterday on March 7 there will be a balance of the losses of the residents," said the Chief of Police.

However, based on information obtained by the Banyumas Police and will be reconfirmed, he added, there has been a commotion in Sumbang involving unscrupulous members of Lowo Ireng and Pemuda Pancasila.

"Still on the same date at around 20.00 WIB, there was a commotion that resulted in two victims from Lowo Ireng and are currently being treated at DKT (Wijayakusuma Army Hospital Purwokerto, ed)," he explained.

After receiving information about the incident, his party is currently carrying out investigations, processing the crime scene (TKP), and examining witnesses.

The police chief said that his party had carried out examinations of eight witnesses and continued today 9 people. Thus, the number of witnesses examined related to this case is 17 people as of Wednesday, March 8.

"Today there are nine more witnesses who we are conducting an examination so that later we can make it clear from the incident that occurred," he said.

He added that the perpetrators of the clashes are being investigated and will summon people related to the commotion that has occurred since Tuesday, March 7 morning for questioning.

In addition, the police are also pursuing several perpetrators who fled.

"We also urge the perpetrators to immediately surrender to the nearest police station, it can be at the police station, it could also go directly to the Banyumas Police, so that this can be processed and cannot be justified to take legal action against themselves," said Kombes Edy.

He also appealed that there were no organizations whose positions were above the law.

Therefore, he asked all parties to respect the law and if anyone knows or the heads of the mass organizations to be able to hand over the perpetrators to the nearest police station.

"We will also conduct investigations related to the ongoing development of rides, as well as the disadvantaged communities, at this time we plan to summon them," he said.

Asked about the evidence that was secured, the Police Chief said that his party was still conducting a search at the TKP.

In addition, he said, people seen in short videos spread through social media will also be summoned for questioning.

Regarding the injuries suffered by the two victims, he said his party was still waiting for the results of the post-mortem carried out by a doctor at RST Wijayakusuma Purwokerto.

"However, from the visual it is like a blunt object, then there is such an incision. I can't conclude yet because I'm still waiting for the results of the post-mortem," he explained.

He admitted that several people had been secured to the Banyumas Police, but his status was still a witness.

Furthermore, the Police Chief conveyed an appeal to the public if there was intimidation, violence, threats, coercion, and so on, they were invited to dare to report to the police.

"Don't be afraid because we, the Central Java Police, in this case the Banyumas Police are present in the midst of society as representatives of the state. Every report related to acts of thuggery, we will definitely take action, I will make sure we will take action," he said.
