Porsche To Instill Hybrid System In 911 GT2 Hospital
JAKARTA - A sports car manufacturer from Germany, Porsche is rumored to be planting hybrid power in the 911 GT2 Hospital for 2026. This will be the first 911 equipped with a hybrid engine.
Quoted by Autocar, the hybrid system that will be used by 911 GT2 RS is the same technology as the prototype car that won Le Mans 24 Hours, Porsche 919 Hybrid and its successor car, 963 LMDh.
For the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), this car will have a twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter linear twin-turbocharged engine, combined with a new powered hybrid powertrain of 690 dk or 515 kW and a 750N Nm torque. Well, when compared to his brother, 991 GT2 RS, the 911 is much more powerful.
The 911 GT2 of this hybrid hospital has a great acceleration when compared to the standard version, from 0-100 km/hour it only takes 2.8 seconds and produces a maximum speed of 340 km/hour.
As for batteries, Porsche is embedding lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 400V to keep weight low. This also indicates that the hybrid hospital GT2 is not a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
The energy charging system in this car is regenerative braking. It is reported that Porsche has also added small turbines to the exhaust in order to produce electricity during acceleration.
Further heavy savings will come from air-cooled batteries. It is reported that 911 GT2 hybrid hospitals are able to manage a small number of drivers with electric power only, but still the main focus of increasing energy from drivetrain is performance.
