The Directorate of Water and Air Police (Polairud) of the Southeast Sulawesi Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle diesel type oil (BBM) suspected to be illegal from South Sulawesi Province (Sulsel).Director of Water and Air Police (Dirpolairud) Polda Sultra Kombes Andi Adnan Syafruddin said the diesel fuel was secured in the waters of Samaturu District, Kolaka Regency."10 tons of diesel fuel was secured by the Sub-Directorate Team of Gakkum Ditpolairud Polda Sultra on Tuesday 28 February 2023 at 14.00 WITA in the waters of Samaturu District, Kolaka," he said in a statement in Kendari, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 7.His party succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of diesel fuel from Siwa Village, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi Province using a jolor ship after conducting an investigation from public information.It was explained that the diesel fuel was transported using two units of jolor ships with details of a blue and white ship containing 185 jerry cans of 35 liters of diesel being headed by the man with the initials A (28). Meanwhile, the white green ship contains 140 jerry cans of 35 liters and is headed by the male initials N (54)."Based on the information, the BBM captains were transported from the people's port in the Siwa - South Sulawesi area where the owner of fuel is a man with the initials A (45) and it is planned that it will be received by a man with the initials B (44) as a customer in the Samaturu sub-district, Kolaka," he explained.Furthermore, Kombes Adnan said, from the results of the initial interrogation of the alleged perpetrators, 325 jerry cans of fuel would be sold to collectors in the Kolaka Regency area."The alleged perpetrators together with 10 tons of fuel evidence have now been secured at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police's Mako Ditpolairud for further processing. Meanwhile, evidence of a ship carrying two units is currently entrusted to the Kolaka Police Satpolair," said Kombes Adnan.In addition, his party has also currently named four suspects who have their respective roles."Four suspects who act as sellers, captains and buyers, and while we complete the mindistic (investigation administration), then place it in the detention center of the Southeast Sulawesi Police," said Kombes Adnan.He added that the suspects were charged with Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended to Article 40 of the IX Perpu Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code with a threat of six years.
