Prepare 2 Indictment Files, Kajari Holds Corruption Suspects Koto Renah Village Fund And SMPN 10 Merangin Jambi BOS
JAMBI - Merangin District Attorney (Kejari) Jambi detained two different suspects after conducting an examination on Monday, March 6 evening.
The first suspect detained by Doni Espa is the former village head (Kades) of Koto Renah for the 2016-2021 term of office, a suspect in corruption in the village fund budget.
Meanwhile, Heryani as the treasurer of school operational assistance funds (BOS) for SMPN 10 Merangin in 2020-2021 was named a suspect in corruption in the Merangin Regency BOS funds.
Head of the information and law section of the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office (Kasi Penkum Kejati) Lexy Fatharani explained that Doni Espa could not account for village funds and for his actions the state suffered a loss of Rp. 1.09 billion.
Doni deviated from the Koto Renah Regional Budget during his tenure as Head of Koto Renah Village.
Meanwhile, Heryani is a suspect in corruption in the management and boss at SMPN 10 Merangin where the suspect is suspected of causing state financial losses of Rp. 541 million.
To speed up the trial process with the preparation of the indictment, the two suspects were detained at the detention center for 20 (twenty) days from March 6, 2023 to March 25, 2023 at the Merangin Police Detention Center.
Furthermore, the suspects will be threatened with 20 years in prison according to the suspicion of Article 2 paragraph (1) Subsidiary Article 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001.
