KPK Arrest Ferdy Yuman, Suspect In Case Of Obstructing Nurhadi's Investigation

JAKARTA - The KPK has arrested Ferdy Yuman, who is suspected of obstructing the process of investigating a bribery and gratuity case related to the case at the Supreme Court (MA) 2011-2016 which ensnared former MA Secretary Nurhadi.

"Last night our task force team arrested an FY in Malang, East Java," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango in his statement in Jakarta, Sunday, January 10.

Ferdy is a suspect for obstructing the investigation and investigation into the Nurhadi case.

"Previously, he had been named a suspect for a criminal act to obstruct efforts to investigate (investigations) and (investigate) the handling of cases on behalf of the NHD suspect (Nurhadi) and friends. This is a" warning "for anyone who commits similar actions, "he said.

Previously, Ferdy was summoned as a witness in his capacity as a private employee in the investigation of the case on July 29, 2020. However, the KPK at that time informed him that he was not present without any confirmation and clear reasons.

"For the purposes of investigation, the suspect FY was detained for the first 20 days, starting from January 10, 2021 to January 29, 2021 at the KPK Prison Pomdam Jaya Guntur branch," said Acting Deputy for KPK Enforcement Setyo Budiyanto, quoted by Antara.

It is known that the article obstructs investigation or "obstruction of justice" is regulated in Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.

This article regulates that a person who deliberately prevents, obstructs or thwarts directly or indirectly the investigation, prosecution and examination at trial of a defendant in a corruption case can be sentenced to a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 12 years and a maximum fine of IDR 600 million.

In the case of bribery and gratification in the Supreme Court, the KPK previously named three suspects, namely Nurhadi, Rezky Herbiyono as Nurhadi's son-in-law, and PT Multicon Indrajaya Terminal (MIT) Director Hiendra Soenjoto.
