Megawati Invites President Jokowi And Policymakers To Reflect, Can The Regional Government's Vision And Mission Be Different?

JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) DPP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, invited all policy makers to reflect on the implementation of regional head elections (Pilkada) related to the dissimilar vision and mission of regional head candidates (Cakada).

Whereas for him, the vision and mission of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) already exists in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.

"Let's think together, when the elections are held simultaneously with the Regional Head Election, at that time each candidate will convey their respective vision and mission. Imagine, how many visions and missions will be voiced in 2024?

"Just a simple question. Can or can the District / City, Provincial and Central Governments within the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia have different visions and missions?" Megawati emphasized in her political speech at the PDIP 48th Anniversary event which was held virtually, Sunday, January 10.

Megawati started her speech by expressing gratitude and gratitude to all the people, organizers, as well as the TNI and Polri for keeping the Pilkada relatively orderly, peaceful and safe.

The implementation is quite good even though the implementation technique is not easy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Megawati said that for the next three years there is no Pilkada planned.

This is because the electoral moment will be held in 2024, simultaneously with the Presidential and Legislative Elections. Until now, the DPR and the government are still discussing the technical and implementation mechanisms.

Megawati hopes that this difference in vision and mission will serve as a reflection for policy makers, both executive and legislative.

President Joko Widodo and Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin attended the event along with a number of his cabinet ministers. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto along with the PDIP DPP staff and nearly 100,000 event participants also heard Megawati's words.
