It Used To Be Megadeth, Now It Is Whitesnake Who Asks Jokowi To Come To JogjaROCKarta
JAKARTA - The vocalist of the legendary hard rock band Whitesnake, David Coverdale, invited President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to attend the JogjaROCKarta 2020 event to witness his performance at the Kridosono Stadium on March 1. So far there has been no response from either Jokowi or presidential staff regarding the invitation. Check out the video below.
Two years ago, Megadeth also invited Jokowi and the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, via their Twitter account. Unfortunately, Jokowi could not attend and only sent a greeting video that was played at the venue just before Megadeth appeared.
"We hope that the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo and Governor Ganjar Pranowo will accept our invitation to watch us perform in Jogjakarta on October 27th. We can't wait to perform at JogjaROCKarta and meet the two of you there," chirped Megadeth.

Rajawali Indonesia, as the organizer, often asks foreign artists who appear at their events to invite Jokowi. Not only those who performed at JogjaROCKarta but also bands that held solo concerts. Like Judas Priest, who performed at Ecopark Ancol on December 8, 2018.

Jokowi often expresses his fondness for rock and metal music. Guns N 'Roses, Metallica, Judas Priest, Lamb of God, and Linkin Park are some of the bands he likes. While still serving as Mayor of Surakarta, he had watched Linkin Park concerts. Meanwhile, when he was Governor of DKI, he attended the Metallica concert. So do not be surprised if David Coverdale also invited Jokowi directly. Whitesnake and Scorpions were asked as headliners this year.
JogjaROCKarta Announces Additional Line Up
At almost the same time, Rajawali Indonesia announced the name Rocket Aviation Group (KPR) and The Hu in its fourth edition of the JogjaROCKarta line-up. After God Bless, Death Vomit, Powerslaves and Navicula, the organizers confirmed that the two bands will add to the excitement of the annual loud music event, which is the pride of Kota Gudeg.
For KPR, this is not the first time they have performed at JogjaROCkarta. In the first edition, in 2017 they performed on stage with God Bless, Power Metal and Death Vomit opening Dream Theater on the first day. At that time, JogjaROCKarta was still held for two days.
The name of the Rocket Aviation Group was adopted from the song belonging to Duo Kribo, entitled Chartering Rockets. The band, which was formed in late 2011 with personnel John Paul Patton (bass / vocals), Rey Marshall (guitar) and Igusti Vikranta (drums), has launched three albums: Terakan Bocah and HAAI which was released in 2015 and Galaksi Palapa (2018).
