Ferry Irawan Is Confirmed To Attend The Divorce Lawsuit Session With Venna Melinda This Week
JAKARTA - After Venna Melinda officially withdrew for divorce last week, now it's just a divorce lawsuit from Ferry Irawan who runs at the South Jakarta Religious Court.
At last week's trial, Ferry Irawan as the plaintiff was asked to attend the trial. For this, Marselinus Abi as one of Ferry's legal team said that the request of the presiding judge for the mediator had been communicated by two of his colleagues, Sunan Kalijaga and Khairul Imam to the East Java Regional Police, who currently detained his client.
"Yesterday the court asked us, try to communicate it to the party there (East Java Police). Now Bang Sunan and Bang Imam are communicating," said Marselinus Abi when contacted by VOI on Monday, March 6.
Marselinus said his client will most likely attend the trial on Thursday, March 9, 2023, virtually via video call.
Due to the distance between Ferry Irawan's place of detention and where the trial took place quite far, the attorney expressed doubts about the direct presence of his client before the trial.
"It's definitely (virtual), because it can't be released. It's also impossible for parties from prisons (to leave), because the journey is also quite far," said Marselinus.
The lawyer also explained technically that Ferry Irawan would make a video call from the East Java Police Detention Center directly to the courtroom. Meanwhile, the presiding judge of the mediator will question the truth of Ferry's power of attorney to Sunan Kalijaga.
"The judge of the mediation chairman asked Ferry Irawan directly whether it was true that he gave full power to Sunan Kalijaga and his team to file a divorce lawsuit at the South Jakarta Religious Court," concluded Marselinus Abi.
