Meeting Chairman Ezaki Glico, Ma'ruf Amin Wants Indonesian Migrant Workers To Work At The Japanese Office
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin met with Chairman Ezaki Glico Co Ezaki Katsuhisa to discuss increasing human resources (HR).
In this meeting held at the Imperial Osaka Hotel, Japan, the Vice President encouraged the Japanese company to continue to support the improvement of Indonesian human resources, one of which was by providing opportunities for Indonesian workers to be able to work directly at Glico's office in Japan, in order to hone skills.
"I also want an opportunity for Indonesian citizens to work at Glico's office in Japan through a staff delivery scheme to the parent company, specific skill workers, and professional recruitment," said the Vice President in Osaka, Japan, citing Antara, Monday, March 6.
The Vice President also encouraged active cooperation between Glico and partners in Indonesia, especially related to food safety management, and product quality to support food security efforts in Indonesia.
The Vice President believes that this will provide benefits for the welfare of the people of the two countries.
"I believe that increasing human resource capacity will provide benefits for the welfare of the people in both countries, as well as strengthening the Indonesian-Japan Strategic Partnership," said the Vice President optimistically.
The vice president also said that when he was a board member of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and visited Japan in 2016, Japan already had special attention regarding halal certification, and on the other hand, the halal certificate in Japan had also been recognized by the MUI.
In addition, he also said, when attending the funeral of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo September last year, the Vice President also had the opportunity to meet Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss the development of the halal industry, such as food and beverages, tourism and fashion.
He hopes that Glico can build a network of halal ecosystems not only in Indonesia, but also in other countries.
"I hope that Glico will also build a network of halal ecosystems not only in Indonesia, but also market halal products built in Indonesian factories to other countries," he said again.
Responding to this, Chairan Glico Ezaki expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian government, for supporting the halal certification process for Glico products.
"We really appreciate various parties for supporting the licensing process, including halal certification, so it will make it easier for us to sell our products in Indonesia," said Ezaki.
Given the large population of Muslims in Indonesia, Ezaki ensures that halal certification is a top priority.
"We prioritize halal certification in producing our products," he said.
Regarding the strengthening of human resources, Ezaki said that Glico had provided training support in Japan for employees working at Glico Indonesia.
He also ensured that Glico would do everything possible to support the increase in Indonesia's human resource capacity.
"We have provided training in Japan to employees in Indonesia. And in the future we will improve the facilities so that the products we produce in Indonesia can increase," he said again.
For information, the company Ezaki Glico in Indonesia, which has the name PT Glico Manufacturing Indonesia, already has a production factory in Thailand and Indonesia. Founded in 2020 in Karawang, West Java, this company produces biscuits with the Pocky brand and has a capital of IDR 693.3 billion, with 260 employees at Glico as of February 2023.
