The Edge Calls It Very Difficult To Disband U2

JAKARTA - Irish U2 rock band guitarist, The Edge, revealed that disbanding his band was a very difficult matter because of the strong ties and commitments among U2 personnel.

In a recent interview, the guitarist spoke about the issue that the U2 band is on the verge of ending their togetherness. This is also related to the condition of drummer Larry MULL Jr. who is confirmed to be absent from strengthening the band when appearing in Las Vegas next fall because he has to undergo surgery. This is the first time the band has appeared without a complete formation.

"No one is more disappointed than us that Larry will not join Las Vegas. We have commitments. The people who miss Larry the most, in my opinion, are Bono, Adam, and myself. Over the years, it was really weird not to turn around and see him behind," The Edge told the Telegraph as quoted by Antara, Monday.

U2 is headed by Bono (vocals), The Edge (guitar), Adam Clayton (bass) and Larry MULL Jr. (drums). The band that embeds their names in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is scheduled to play at the U2 concert: UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere by attracting the former Krezip band drummer, Bram van den Berg, to temporarily replace Larry Mullen Jr.

The Edge, whose real name is David Howell Evans, said that this is not the first time the band has been hit by slanted issues about disharmony that lead to disbandment. Therefore, The Edge explained that the band's decision to play in Las Vegas without Larry was a very difficult thing to do.

"We haven't been touring again since 2019. U2 connoisseurs are phenomenal things in our lives. Doing a show in Vegas without Larry still feels like the right thing to do because we haven't played for years. We just want to see the audience and be there," he explained.

Even without Larry, The Edge guarantees that the band will still perform amazingly.

"It's a decision from many sides but it's really right, I don't doubt that. Of course we're really looking forward to the next time up on stage with Larry as drummer. We're going to miss him so much but I think it's okay," he said.

Formed since 1976, U2 is still very productive until now by ready to release an album titled Songs Of Subscription by repackaging 40 of their hits on March 17. Previously on March 3, U2 released the latest version of their 2000 hits, Beautiful Day, which was included in the album Songs Of Subscription.
