Garut Regency Government Allocates IDR 2.5 Billion For Repair Of 511 Residents' Houses Damaged Due To Garsela Fault
GARUT - The Government of Garut Regency, West Java has allocated a budget of IDR 2.5 billion for assistance in repairing residents' houses damaged by Garsela Sesar earthquake activities in Samarang and Pasirwangi sub-districts."Around Rp. 2.5 billion for approximately 511 houses affected in two sub-districts," said Head of the Garut Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Satria Budi in Garut, Antara, Sunday, March 5.The proposed budget of Rp. 2.5 billion came from the BTT shift, then budget management by the Garut Spatial Planning and Settlement Service, and the Garut Public Works and Public Housing Office.The amount that will be given to the victims of the earthquake, he said, varies depending on the level of damage to the house, namely minor, moderate, and severe damage which is technically regulated by the relevant agencies."God willing, they will be considered. For the amount of assistance, they get it different, because there are light, medium, and heavy ones, it will be technical later," he said.He added that the efforts to overcome the areas affected by the earthquake on February 1, 2023, were not only repairing residents' houses, but also schools, and mosques in the area."Including schools and mosques, it will also be repaired," he said.Member of Commission IV of the Garut Regency DPRD Yudha Puja Turnawan stated that the amount of BTT Garut in 2023 is IDR 75 billion, the budget has been partially used for handling cases of diphtheria, as well as victims of earthquake disasters in Pasirwangi and Samararang sub-districts.He conveyed that the legislature continues to oversee the use of the BTT budget so that it is right on target and appropriate for emergency problems, one of which is helping victims of natural disasters."As now used for earthquake assistance in Pasirwangi and Samararang, the amount is Rp. 2.5 billion, the amount for heavily damaged houses is Rp. 25 million, others (light damage) is Rp. 1 to Rp. 2 million," he said.Previously, an earthquake measuring 4.3 magnitude rocked the Garut area and caused damage to residents' houses in Pasirwangi and Samararang sub-districts, Wednesday (1/2) night. Luckily the disaster only caused material losses, while there were no casualties.
