Access To Paralyzed Society, Singkawang Street And Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan Submerged By Rob Flood

PONTIANAK- Jalan Raya that connects Singkawang City and Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, precisely in Pajintan Village, East Singkawang District, has been flooded since early Sunday morning causing community activities to become paralyzed.

"The incident occurred where Singkawang City was indeed being hit by heavy rain accompanied by lightning," said Babinsa, Pajintan Village, Second Sergeant Shon Haji, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 5.

According to him, the tidal flood occurred between 04.00 or 04.30 WIB. The water level during the tidal flood was about 1.2 meters, even water entered the houses of residents, churches and Pekong Kwin Im.

"Fortunately the flood did not last long, only about 1 hour," he said.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Yanto, admitted that he panicked and was worried when the tidal flood occurred.

"At the time of the incident, I was already up. Suddenly the flood immediately came," he said.

According to him, the tidal flood incident this time was quite severe, unlike before.

From that incident, he tried to pack items to a safe place. "Because in the house the water is already as high as an adult's calf," he said.
