Hosting The FIFA U-20 World Cup, Directorate General Of Immigration Launches Special Visa For Foreign Supporters
JAKARTA - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration has prepared a number of new types of visas to facilitate tourist arrivals to Indonesia. One of them is sports visas or sports visas intended for foreign supporters
"One of them is a sports visa. So for example there are matches in Indonesia, so if they want to find, there are types, so that they are easy to find, in Google they are easy to find, they are 'browing' easy, yes'sports visas' right," said Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration Silmy Karim in Jakarta, Sunday 5 March, confiscated by Antara.
Silmy said that Indonesia is targeting to host several world-class sports events, such as Moto GP, Formula 1 (F1), and the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The international sporting event will definitely attract global supporters and spectators. This momentum must be used to attract as many tourists as possible.
To facilitate the arrival of these supporters, he said, the Directorate General of Immigration has prepared sports visas so that global supporters are not bothered with immigration document matters.
"For example, supporters are confused, it will hinder them from coming to Indonesia so that Indonesia loses momentum to get income from tourism or take advantage of sports activities in Indonesia, so we make it easier for'sports visas'," he said.
He said the Ministry of Law and Human Rights had prepared a number of other visas in order to facilitate immigration affairs, but did not explain which visas would be launched.
However, Silmy said sports visas and other visas would be launched this month.
"In the near future, in March 2023, it will be arranged in a system to make it easier for people who are 'apply'. So this month, before 100 days there are several new visas that we will launch for foreigners," he said.
