Risma Planting Trees In Ciliwung Watershed: Riverbanks Need To Be Protected
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP PDIP for Culture and Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that the Ciliwung river basin (DAS) or the banks of the Ciliwung river must be preserved and maintained considering the many rare plants that grow.
"This is truly extraordinary. Because the richness of the banks of the Ciliwung River is not only to be preserved, but must be preserved. This is an extraordinary legacy. Many types of rare plants are here," said Risma while planting trees in the Watershed (DAS). Ciliwung in the Balekambang area, East Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Sunday, January 10.
Risma carried out this activity with the Ciliwung Condet Community accompanied by the Chairperson of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD Faction, Gembong Warsono, member of the Indonesian Parliament Putra Nababan, and the East Jakarta PDIP PAC administrators.
This event is a series of PDIP's 48th Anniversary Commemoration with the big theme of Indonesia with Personality in Culture.
One of the sub-themes of the activity that Megawati inaugurated was Cinta Ciliwung Bersih. This activity implements strict health protocols so that activity participants are limited and must carry out the health protocol for preventing COVID-19.
Recalling the message of the Chairperson of the DPP, Megawati Sukarnoputri, Risma said that this sustainability must be preserved and maintained because the current generation must prepare a legacy for future generations.
Risma then planted a salak tree as a symbol of the start of the reforestation work. Apart from barking trees, PDIP has also planted lute trees.
"This is a cultural heritage, which may become a reference for our children to study rare plants," said Risma in a press release.
Risma also appreciated the Ciliwung Condet Community who continues to work to protect the riverbanks and their plants.
Risma also invited all parties to make the greening movement at the PDIP's 48th Anniversary as a momentum to preserve the river.
"Let's preserve it. I've never eaten Condet bark. Someday people will look for it. To be sure, preserving nature is extraordinary," said the former Surabaya Mayor.
