JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy's Kopaska Team and a team of divers again found evidence in the form of children's clothing and pieces of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft on the second day of search.
Marine Major, KRI Commander Kurau Nur Rochim, said the team found the debris at 08.30 WIB. This evidence was brought to the JICT II Command Post, using KRI Kurau.
"The Indonesian Navy Kopaska team and the diving team handed over the found items to KRI Kurau. In the form of tire fragments, pink children's clothes, and plane fragments. Furthermore, the KRI Kurau team handed over to Basarnas," Rochim said at the JICT II Command Post, North Jakarta, Sunday , January 10.
Continuing, Kasubdit Dokpol Bidokkes Polda Metro Jaya Kompol Asep Yunardi said the children's clothes that were found would be brought by the Police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team to be identified.
Meanwhile, aircraft debris in the form of pieces of the aircraft's body and wheels will be taken to the National Transportation Safety Commission (NTSC) for further investigation.
"We collect the property belonging to the victim at the antimortem post (at Pori Hospital). Later, the family or relatives may find out so that they can associate the property with the victim's identification," said Asep.
In addition, the joint SAR team searching for the position of Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 also managed to find iron plates and boulders shaped like wheels from Sriwijaya Air SJ-182.
The team managed to find iron plates floating on the water. Judging from its shape, it is strongly suspected that it came from the fuselage which lost contact.
This metal slab is no bigger than an adult. The fracture of these iron plates is irregular.
The joint SAR team also found iron that resembled the wheels of an airplane. However, the shape is no longer regular. Because on some sides it is no longer smooth, aka damaged as if it had been hit by a strong blow.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the finding of the plane pieces was a progress of the performance of the joint team to search for the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft.
"From what we got today, there is some progress. This shows the performance of all parties on the field is going well. We ask for prayers from all people so that this search process can run well, "said Budi.
TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said the dive team from the Kopaska team had also dived and found several parts of the plane, such as plane fragments, life vest, the color of the part of the plane, the aircraft registration section and a number of other findings.
"We received reports from the diver team that the visibility in the water was good and clear, allowing the discovery of some parts of the plane. Hopefully until this afternoon the current conditions and the view under the sea are still good so that we can continue the search. We are sure that is where the plane crashed, hopefully we can develop it further, "said Hadi.
