Russian President, Vladimir Putin, Expressed His Condolences For The Downing Of The Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Aircraft

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences for the crash of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane to the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo on Saturday, January 9.

"The President of Russia expresses his deepest condolences for the death of passengers and crew of the aircraft that crashed off the coast of Java." read the message released on the Kremlin website.

Putin called on the public to send words of sympathy and support to the families and relatives who were left behind.

Report of lost contact with Sriwijaya Air SJ182 aircraft was received by Basarnas at 14.55 WIB. The Boeing 747-524 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route lost contact between Lancang Island and Laki Island, Seribu Islands.

There were 62 passengers including the crew of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft. Of the total passengers, there are 7 children and 3 babies. The Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft had its departure delayed for 30 minutes. The reason was the heavy rain.
