Body Pieces And Properties Allegedly Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Sent To Police Hospital

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said the joint team searching for the Sriwijaya SJ-182 aircraft found two bags containing body parts and property suspected to belong to passengers.

Yusri said the two bags had been found during a search on Saturday, January 9 yesterday. Now, the two bags have been taken to the National Police Hospital.

"There have been 2 bags sent by the anti-security post in Kramat Jati. Two bags there have been worked on and identified. One bag contains body parts and the other property," said Yusri when met at the JICT 2 Command Post, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Sunday, 10 January.

Yusri asked the family of passengers on the SJ-182 plane to provide complete victim data in order to support the identification of the body parts found. To date, there have been 8 families of passengers and crew who have provided victim data

"We say that it must be the closest family because we need DNA. As well as carrying a track record of the victim's health, for example, fractures, broken teeth or tattoos. This information is what we need," said Yusri.

As previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft took off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, at 14:36 WIB, Saturday, January 9. One minute later the plane to Pontianak was at an altitude of 1,700 feet and was allowed to rise to an altitude of 29 thousand feet following instrument standards.

"At 14:40 Sriwijaya did not go to 075 degrees but to the northwest, therefore ATC was asked to report the direction of the plane. Not long after, within seconds, SJY 182 disappeared from radar, "said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Saturday, January 9.

There were 62 passengers including the crew of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft. Of the total passengers, there are 7 children and 3 babies.

The Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft had its departure delayed for 30 minutes. The reason was the heavy rain.
