Kopaska TNI AL Deployed 4 Teams To Help Search For SJ-182 Sriwijaya Air Debris

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy's Frog Troop Command (Kopaska) divided four teams to help search for victims and the wreckage of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane that crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.

Marine Major (P) Edy Tirtayasa explained that the 4 teams departing were divided into teams at KRI Teluk Gilimanuk, the team at KRI Rigel-933, and two other teams departing using two sea riders.

"Some divers have helped evacuate the search for the Lion Air JT-610 plane which crashed in Karawang waters in 2018," said Edy at KRI Teluk Gilimanuk-531, Sunday, January 10, reported by Antara.

The results of the monitoring showed that around seven KRIs had docked between Lancang Island and Laki Island to prepare to search for victims and the wreckage of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft.

The Sriwijaya Air plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route with flight number SJ-182 lost contact at 14:40 WIB. The plane is thought to have crashed between Male Island and Lancang Island, Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta.

The plane was carrying 46 adult passengers, seven children, three babies, a pilot-copilot, one flight safety officer and three cabin crew.
