Plumpang Depot Burns, Pertamina Opens Voice

JAKARTA - The Pertamina Plumpang depot was engulfed in a severe fire on Friday, March 3 at around 20.21 WIB.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga West Java Regional, Eko Kristiawan via text message confirmed the incident.

"There has been a fire in the fuel receipt pipe at the Integrated BBM Jakarta Terminal, Plumpang," he told VOI, Friday.

He explained that currently his party is working on countermeasures and evacuations of workers and residents around the location in coordination with all related parties.

Regarding the cause of the fire, Eko said that his party was still carrying out an investigation process to determine the cause of the fire.

"Pertamina Patra Niaga West Java Regional is trying its best in dealing with incidents that occur," continued Eko.

Regarding the amount of fuel burned in the incident and the fate of fuel supply in the Jakarta area and its surroundings, Eko has not provided an answer.

Currently, firefighters who received information deployed 18 fire engines with 90 personnel.

It is known that the Pertamina Plumpang Depot, which is located in North Jakarta, has a capacity of 5,000 kilo liters.

This Plumpang fuel terminal fire is not the first time this has happened.
