Turning To UE5, The Wolf Among Us 2 Launch Postponed Until 2024

JAKARTA - It has been more than two years since the development process, the developer of Telltale Games announced that the launch of its newest sequel entitled The Wolf Among Us 2 will be postponed until next year.

The game was originally scheduled to be released around the beginning of 2023, but as it wanted to make the game perfect, the developer in a statement shared on Twitter decided to postpone it.

We have made a difficult decision to postpone The Wolf Among Us 2 from 2023. We started working on this in 2020 and we are still determined to tell the story of Bigby which is ongoing and other Fabletown gangs. However, it will take more time, " wrote the studio, quoted Friday, March 3.

"We are committed to providing a sequel that fans deserve and doing what's right for the game while protecting the health of our team," they continued.

Meanwhile, the developer also provided more information about the development of the game and the reasons behind the delay when talking to IGN.

Studio says they have high hopes for the success of the sequel. The development team also wants to avoid the crisis, and ensure the team's health is another factor that contributes to the decision to postpone the game.

"If we take out this game and it's not ready, we'll be torn apart. The hope is pretty high, and we want time to fulfill it and we want to be proud of it and know that, 'Hey, this is the best game we can make." said Telltale Games CEO Jamie Ottilie told IGN.

In addition, Ottilie has also confirmed that The Wolf Among Us 2 which was originally developed with Unreal Engine 4 has now changed machines, and is now being made using Unreal Engine 5.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is now expected to launch around 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
