Head Of National Police Deploy 7 Polair Ships And 2 Helicopters To Search Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Aircraft

JAKARTA - Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam), Komjen Agus Andrianto, said that the National Police Headquarters deployed a SAR Team with the strength of seven Polair ships and two helicopters. The Police Team assisted in the evacuation of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft on Male Island, Thousand Islands, Jakarta.

"We deployed the SAR Team to assist BNPB with the strength of seven police ships and two helicopters," said Komjen Agus as quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 10, in the early hours of the morning.

In addition, three Polairud Polda Metro Jaya ships were also involved to help evacuate the SAR Team. The SAR operation was led by the Director of the Police Headquarters Police.

The Head of the Sub-Division for the Development of the National Police's Korpolairud Baharkam Function AKBP RM Tohir said Baharkam Polri prepared 80 personnel to carry out the process of evacuating victims from the plane that crashed around the waters of the Thousand Islands.

"There are 80 temporary personnel prepared," said AKBP Tohir.

In total there were 62 people on board including the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 crew. Of the total passengers, there are 7 children and 3 babies.
