PDIP's Anxiety Towards Bureaucratic Downsizing
JAKARTA - PDIP politician Cornelis reminded the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) Tjahjo Kumolo to be careful in downsizing the State Civil Apparatus (ASN). This is because the downsizing of the bureaucracy could have an impact on the vote of the party bearing the black bull symbol in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
Political observer of Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, saw that Cornelis' concern was true. This is because the bureaucracy in Indonesia is still a political force.
Although ASN must be neutral. However, he revealed, the facts say differently. ASN is not neutral. They play politics in disguise and play behind the scenes. Piggyback quietly.
"What the PDIP politician said has a point. Because if they are hurt, they will hate PDIP. Because the minister is from the PDIP," he said, when contacted, in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 19.
Ujang said that if ASN governance is not carried out properly, it will have a bad impact on PDIP. The impact will be felt on the vote acquisition in 2024.
"The impact is very big. Because ASN they have a family and if they are angry because of the downsizing of the bureaucracy, it will also have an impact on the PDIP vote acquisition in 2024," he said.
Previously, DPR RI Commission II member Cornelis questioned President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) decision to appoint a PDIP politician as MenPAN-RB. He is worried that if ASN governance is not carried out properly it will have a bad impact on PDIP. Because, he said, clearing up the bureaucracy is not an easy thing.
"Why did the President give PDIP people to become MenPAN? Meanwhile, this is a major disease, Sir. Our mistakes in the 2024 General Election will be defeated, because echelon 3, echelon 4 are all dismissed (slaughtered)," Cornelis said in a working meeting (raker) at the Commission. II, MPR / DPR complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday 18 November.
"Meanwhile, in the field, bureaucratic politics is very decisive, we die. Why not just give it to another party ?," he continued.
This statement was conveyed by Cornelis in a meeting with MenPAN-RB Tjahjo Kumolo. Tjahjo is known to be a PDIP politician.
Cornelis also reminded Tjaho to be careful in making policies. He did not want the policy imposed by Kempar-RB to make ASNs angry at the party led by Megawati Sukarnoputri.
"Please Pak Tjahjo be clever in arranging these things, so that they do not become a grudge against ASN," pleaded Cornelis.
The atmosphere in the Commission II meeting room was rowdy when Cornelis expressed his views. The head of the work meeting, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, also responded with laughter.
"Mr. Cornelis, it's not time for this campaign, Sir. Later. Sir, then Mr. Tjahjo will cry, Sir," said Doli, greeted by laughter from the members of Commission II and the ranks of KemenPAN-RB officials who were present at the meeting.
Responding to Cornelis' statement, Tjahjo revealed that what has become a government decision is a political decision. So, his party must carry out the mandate as well as possible.
"If there is a risk (there must be), it is a political risk. But this is a political risk for the benefit of the nation and state," said Tjhajo.
Tjhajo explained that the streamlining of the bureaucracy was aimed at realizing a system of government that was professional, quickly served the public, and quickly gave permission to all levels of society.
"I think everything is the same and we continue to want to improve the welfare of ASN. There are 4 million tablets in this large country, out of 260 million, 4 million are ASN. This must be more professional according to function and position. Whatever the government takes is a political decision," he said. .
