Director General Of Customs And Excise Promises Letter Of Dismissal Eko Darmanto After This Week
JAKARTA - The direction of Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara to remove Eko Darmanto (ED) as Head of the Yogyakarta Customs Office was followed up responsively by the Director General of Customs and Excise Askolani.
According to Asko, as Askolani is called, the administrative process will be completed in the near future. He conveyed the information to reporters on Thursday night.
"Hopefully this week," he was quoted as saying Friday, March 3.
Asko explained that the process of deactivating ED could not be executed. The reason is, the person concerned is currently in the process of being investigated internally at the Ministry of Finance.
"We go through the stages at the Inspectorate General first," he said.
To note, the examination process that has been carried out on ED automatically invalidates the right of the person concerned to resign as a State Civil Apparatus (ASN). This action is intended to appreciate the ongoing examination as well as bind ED to account for his actions as an ASN.
This provision is based on PP Number 11 of 2017 as amended in PP Number 17 of 2020 and also the regulation of the Head of BKN Number 3 of 2023.
Meanwhile, the issue that entangles ED is caused by its behavior which often shows luxury while the status that is predicted is state servants who are tasked with collecting acceptance from the public.
In fact, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil gave a strong statement about ASN behavior that adheres to a hedonism lifestyle.
"The upload of ED photos on social media shows the behavior of showing off that is not in accordance with the appropriateness of ASN at the Ministry of Finance," said Suahasil.
