KRI Rigel With Advanced Technology 3 Dimensional Photos Under Water Deployed To Search Sriwijaya Air SJ-182
JAKARTA - KRI Rigel, which has 3-dimensional underwater photo technology, was deployed to look for the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane that crashed around Male Island, Thousand Islands.
"Tonight a KRI Rigel was also sent which can carry out 3-dimensional photos under water. There, they immediately searched and took pictures of what was in the search and rescue area, "said the Commander of Koarmada I, Rear Admiral Abdul Rasyid in an interview at JICT 2, Jakarta broadcast by Metro TV, Saturday, January 9.
In addition, there are 2 other KRIs and one tugboat that are already at the coordinates of the disappearance of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft.
"Then tonight we will also send 4 KRI to bring divers, Denjaka, Kospaka, Taifib," continued Laksda Abdul Rasyid.
Currently, the wave conditions at the site are reported to be one to 1.5 meters high. All forces were deployed to search for the SJ-182 aircraft.
"Our location points are spread around the island of Laki and this is still coordinating with Basarnas ships and other ships at sea," he continued.
To perform full covered depth detection, KRI Rigel will use Multibeam Echosounder EM2040 and Side Scan Sonar. The technology is for imaging the fuselage and High Precision Acoustic Positioning (HIPAP) with Frequency A and B.
KRI Rigel belonging to the Indonesian Navy's Hydrographic and Oceanography Center (Pushidrosal) once participated in searching for the black box of the Lion Air JT 610 plane that crashed in Karawang waters. KRI Rigel has Multibeam Echosounder EM2040 technology and Side Scan Sonar to record objects under the sea.
Previously, the Indonesian Air Force had also prepared helicopters and planes to help search for the Sriwijaya SJ-182 plane which crashed in the waters of Pulau Seribu after losing contact at around 14.30 WIB.
"Responding to the lost contact of the Sriwijaya Air SJ 128 route from Jakarta to Pontianak, according to the TNI Commander's instructions, the Indonesian Air Force has alerted helicopters and fixed wing aircraft to support search and rescue operations," said Kadispenau Marsma TNI Indan Gilang B in a written statement quoted on Saturday, January 9th.
The helicopters prepared were the Super Puma NAS-332 helicoter from the 6th Air Squadron and the EC-725 Caracal from the 8th Air Squadron Atang Sendjaja Bogor Air Base. In addition, SAR personnel from Korpaskhas have also been alerted.
"The Indonesian Air Force is also preparing a Boeing 737 maritime surveillance fixed wing aircraft from the 5th Air Squadron of Sultan Hasanudin Makassar Base and CN-295 Air Squadron 2 at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base Jakarta," he said.
