NBA Player Giannis Antetokounmpo And 3 His Brother Acquired The Shares Of The Nashville SC MLS Club
JAKARTA NBA basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo and his three brothers officially acquired part of the minority stake in the Nashville SC Major League Soccer (MLS) club. He has also confirmed the purchase of part of the team's shares.
Gianni said football was the first sport she had liked before becoming a famous basketball player today.
"My father was a professional footballer, and it was the first sport to make me fall in love in Greece," he told ESPN quoted by LiveScore.
The NBA MVP two-time winner acquired the team's stock which finished fifth in the Western Region last season before being knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by LA Galaxy in the MLS Cup.
He bought the club's shares with his brothers Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex. The share value acquired by the four brothers has yet to be disclosed.
However, what is certain is that they joined Nashville forward Filip Forsberg to become an investor in the Tennessee franchise.
"I always dreamed of having a football team. When my brothers and I explored Nashville SC, we knew that it was a team and a city we wanted to join," said Giannis.
"I can't wait to join Boys in Gold, and can't wait to play at GEODIS Park soon," 28-year-old basketball player added.
The Antetokounmpo brothers and Forsberg joined previous well-known investors in Nashville, including actress Reese Witherspoon and Tennessee runner Derrick Henry.
Another well-known sportsman who also owns shares in the MLS team is Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant. Kevin also owns five percent of the shares in Philadelphia Union.
Philadelphia 76ers player James Harden is also a minority investor in Houston Dynamo, while Denver Broncos defender Russell Wilson owns a stake in Seattle Sounders.
