MetaMask Will Connect To Blockchain Game App
JAKARTA One of Ethereum's popular wallets, MetaMask, recently launched a software development kit (SDK) on the Unity Asset Store. This move allows game developers to integrate Web3 gaming apps with platforms and connect their games to MetaMask wallets.
This feature allows users to interact with features that support Web3 in the game itself. Apart from MetaMask, a list of verified SDKs from Aptos, Algorand, Flow, ImmutableX, Infura, Solana, and Tezos is also listed on the Unity Asset Store.
MetaMask is also working with ConsenSys and Infura to launch an initial Web3 user program, called Sidequest. The program will offer a grant of US$100,000 (Rp1.5 billion) and guidance to help game developers transition to Web3.
MetaMask claims that there are one million users connected to Web3 games on 48 blockchains every day, so the growth potential is huge.
DappRadar recently released a report showing that the Web3 gaming industry has started this year brilliantly, as 156 million US dollars (equivalent to Rp2.3 trillion) have been amassed in ten investments in January.
On-chain data for blockchain games showed an increase in activity by 1.3 percent with 858,621 unique daily active wallets in January, which is 48 percent of decentralized application activity or Dapp.
In addition, former Goldman Sachs analyst Grant Haseley announced Web3's first cloud-based FPS game, Undead Blocks, at ImmutableX. This game is the first combating game for a multiplayer zombie survive that can be played for free to earn money and developed by Haseley's Wagyu Games Studio.
Andrew Sorokovsky, vice president of Global Business Development at Immutable, said that Undead Blocks is the right combination of innovative technology and approximate and inclusive gameplay that is poised to provide a major boost to the mass adoption of Web3 games.
With the launch of MetaMask SDK in the Unity Asset Store and rapid growth in the Web3 gaming industry, game developers are expected to benefit from this opportunity and improve their gaming experience.
The initial user program Web3 launched by MetaMask, ConsenSys, and Infura can also help game developers transition to Web3. In the future, it can be expected that Web3 gaming adoption will continue to increase and create greater business opportunities.
