Indonesian Navy Helps Search For Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 Plane That Was Missing In The Thousand Islands
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy has deployed a number of warships to search for the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 aircraft which lost contact in the waters of the Thousand Islands.
"Elements of the Indonesian Navy assisted the Search and Resque (SAR) of Sriwijaya Air Sriwijaya Air flight number SJ 182 on the Jakarta-Pontianak route which was lost contact," said the Head of the Naval Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral of the TNI Julius Widjojono in his written statement, Saturday, January 9th.
The number of ships deployed were KRI Teluk Gili Manuk complete with the Kopaska Team, KRI Kurau, KRI Parang, KRI Teluk Cirebon, KRI Tjiptadi, KRI KRI Cucut-866, KRI Tengiri.
In addition, the Indonesian Navy also deployed two Sea Rider Kopaska and two tugboats, namely TD. Galunggung and Malabar.
In addition, the Indonesian Navy has also prepared Heli Nbell 412 EP HU 4205 and KRI Bontang, which are currently leaning against the JICT Jakarta pier.
It was reported earlier that the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route had reportedly lost contact, on Saturday, January 9. This news was later confirmed by the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Novie Riyanto.
"There has been a lost contact with the Sriwijaya aircraft on the Jakarta-Pontianak route with the SJ 182 call sign," Novie said when confirmed by reporters, Saturday, January 9.
He said the aircraft's last contact was made at 14:40 WIB.
Regarding this aircraft, based on data from flightradar24, the Sriwijaya Air plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route departs from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten at 14.36 WIB and its estimated arrival is scheduled for 15.15 WIB
