Minors Malaysian Detained By Dumai Riau Immigration Office

PEKANBARU - Head of the Immigration Office Class I TPI Dumai, Riau, Rejeki Putera Ginting said his party detained a Malaysian Selangor resident with the initials ZSS (15) because he overstayed or exceeded the stay permit limit in Indonesia for 22I days.

"Even though the person concerned is a minor, we will continue to follow up in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. Currently, the person concerned is being held at the Dumai Immigration Office (Kanim) for further investigation," said Rejeki Putra Ginting as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 1.

He said that initially he came with his uncle and aunt to the Dumai Immigration Office because he was leaving for Malaysia, then the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section officers immediately checked the travel documents and residence permits concerned.

From the results of the examination, Ginting said again, his party found that the residence permit in question had expired or overstayed for 221 days.

"Based on Government Regulation Number 28 of 2019 concerning types of Non-Tax State Revenue that apply to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Foreign Citizens who exceed the limit of living are subject to a burden of Rp100,000/day," he said.

If the overstay is more than 60 days, he said, then foreigners will be subject to immigration administrative action in the form of deportation and put on the deterrence list.

"All examination procedures and follow-up procedures will refer to the established SOP," said Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Riau Mhd. Jahari Sitepu.

He said his party had ordered the ranks to maintain integrity and uphold religious values. Work is worship. In order to get a reward, all work must be done in accordance with applicable regulations.

"No one is allowed to accept bribes, gratuities or things that violate the law. Don't because they are wrong, officers are looking for opportunities to do illegal. Be careful, yes, someone is caught committing a violation, get ready to remove the Kemenkumham uniform," said Jahari.

Jahari does not want Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights to be tarnished because of the actions of a handful of individuals. All work units of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights have also committed to realizing an integrity zone towards corruption-free areas and clean and serving bureaucracy (WBK/WBBM) in their respective agencies.
