Boasts Of Wanting To Resign The Minister Of Youth And Sports, In Fact Jokowi Has Not Received A Letter Of Resignation Zainudin Amali

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said he had not received Zainudin Amali's resignation letter as Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora). Previously, Zainudin boasted that he wanted to withdraw from the Menpora and wanted to concentrate on PSSI

"Not yet, not yet. Until now there has been no letter to the Minister of State Secretary from the Minister of Youth and Sports, nothing yet," said President Jokowi at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 2.

Because there has been no resignation letter from Amali, President Jokowi has not spoken much about the possibility of a new figure filling the position of Minister of Youth and Sports.

"The letter hasn't been changed yet," said Jokowi.

President Jokowi on February 21, 2023, said that Zainudin Amali had said that he wanted to resign from the position of Minister of Youth and Sports because he was elected as Deputy General Chair I of PSSI for the period 2023-2027.

However, Amali has only limited to submitting an informal resignation and has not submitted an official procedure.

"I haven't officially written yet, it's informal," said Jokowi on Jalan Inspeksi Ciliwung, Jakarta.

Zainudin Amali, minister who is also a cadre of the Golkar Party, was elected as Deputy General Chair I of PSSI at the PSSI Extraordinary Congress (KLB), Thursday, February 16, 2023.

In the KLB, the elected General Chairperson of PSSI was Erick Thohir who was also Minister of SOEs and Ratu Thasha was elected Deputy Chair II of PSSI.

After being elected, Amali boasted that he wanted to focus and concentrate on managing national football. He said President Jokowi had also given permission to himself to focus on developing football.

"Don't explain it for long anymore. How can you ask again. So, he (President) has allowed me to focus and concentrate on managing football to accompany Mr. Erick Thohir, Ratu Tisha and friends of Exco PSSI," Amali said on Monday (20/2).
