Don't Corrupt, BPK Ensures To Supervise The COVID-19 Vaccine Procurement Program
JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) ensures that it will supervise all procurement activities for the COVID-19 vaccine carried out by the government to deal with the impact of the pandemic.
Chairman of BPK Agung Firman Sampurna said that the step was taken because every activity that involved state finances had to be under the supervision of the BPK.
"These problems include, among other things, financial risks in the procurement and distribution of vaccines as well as issues that develop in the community regarding safety, efficacy and side effects, as well as the implementation of vaccine distribution to the public through cooperation with local governments and hospitals," he said in an official statement. , Saturday, January 9.
Agung added that his party was specifically asked by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir to be directly involved in overseeing the government's strategic program. It was stated that the meeting of the two high-ranking state officials was also attended by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Friday, January 8, 2020.
"The meeting which was held at the request of an audience from the Ministry of BUMN, the three leaders discussed the implementation of vaccine procurement and distribution which was carried out in the emergency condition of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia," said Firman.
For information, the government will carry out a COVID-19 vaccination program for the public starting this year until 2022. This program will be accompanied by improvements to the community data base system used in the vaccination process. Includes a system for vaccine distribution.
