Update On COVID-19 As Of January 9: 10,046 New Cases, Positivity Rate 15.6 Percent
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. Of the 57,666 specimens examined, there were an increase of 10,046 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 818,340 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, January 8.
Cases recovered today have increased by 6,628 so that a total of 672,511 people have recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 194 people and a total of 23,947 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 2,753 new cases. Followed by West Java, which has 1,731 new cases.
Central Java has 1,033 new cases, East Java has 994 new cases, and South Sulawesi has 580 new cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,118 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,179 recovered cases.
Next, East Java with an additional 758 recovered cases, South Sulawesi with 439 recovered cases, and Central Java with 280 recovered cases.
From this data, all provinces reported an increase in cases and no province reported an increase in cases of less than 10.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined reached 7,836,984. In detail, 7,706,225 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 130,759 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
The national positivity rate currently reaches 15.6 percent or higher than the recommended World Health Organization (WHO), which is below 5 percent.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 69,865. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
