JAKARTA - The public is asked to report if they find Oilita sales above the highest retail price (HET).

The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said this was because the supply of Oilita had begun to be disbursed. Where, will make prices more stable.

"Minyakita is usually provided 300 thousand tons a month, but because of the high demand, it has been increased to 450 thousand tons," said Zulkifli Hasan quoting Antara, Wednesday, March 1.

He said that with the addition of these supplies, if Oilita's sales were still found above the highest retail price, there would be withdrawal action.

"If someone sells more than Rp. 14,000 per liter, report it to the task force (task force), later it will be taken because this has been increased to 450 thousand tons a month," he also said.

He explained that the availability of Oilita in the market, which always experiences a supply shortage, occurred due to the shift in the consumption of cooking oil by the community.

"So you could say that this Oilita is too successful, everyone is looking for this, even the premium cooking oil users have moved to Oilita," he said again.

According to him, this has resulted in in insufficient production of Oilita to fulfill public consumption.

"This should be intended for underprivileged communities and sold in traditional markets, but some are sold in retail and even marketplaces. So we attract everything back to traditional markets so that everything is balanced," he also said.

The Trade Minister said that currently there are two types of cooking oil that are managed by his party, namely Oilita and bulk oil. To maintain a balance of consumption, it will be increased for bulk oil stocks.

"So there are two types, namely Oilita and bulk oil, now we will increase bulk oil and reduce oil, so that everything returns to balance," he said again.
