Former Head Of State Of The New Queen Of OKU Named A Village Fund Corruption Suspect

MARTAPURA - The team of investigators for corruption crimes at the East OKU Resort Police, South Sumatra has named CW (50), the former Head of Negeri Ratu Baru Village, Bunga Mayang District as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of village funds (DD) for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.

"The Pidkor Unit revealed a criminal act of corruption in East OKU Regency in using DD in Negeri Ratu Baru Village in 2017-2018," said Head of OPS for the East OKU Police, Kompol Alex Andrian, accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Hamsal, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 1.

He explained that the determination of the suspect status of the former village head for the 2014-2020 period was carried out after a long investigation process until the evidence was declared complete.

"The arrest of suspect CW was carried out starting from information received by the East OKU Police Pidkor Unit regarding irregularities in the use of the village budget," he explained.

The suspect was proven to have violated Law Number 31 of 1999 Article 2 paragraph 1 as amended and renewed by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption and Article 64 of the Criminal Code.

The suspect committed an alleged criminal act of corruption in the use of village funds with state losses reaching Rp354 million.

"Based on the examination of the South Sumatra BPKP, the state losses in this case reached Rp354 million," he said.

From the suspect's hands, several pieces of evidence were carried out, including notes, document stamps, checking accounts, and village accounts.

The function of this evidence is a tool to help launch the suspect's actions in committing the criminal act of corruption that ensnared him.

"The police have detained the suspect on suspicion of corruption in village funds for further investigation," he said.
