This Is An Update On The Auction Of Harley Motorcycles And Smuggled Brompton Bikes On Garuda Indonesia Airplanes
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) confirmed that the auction process for smuggled Harley Davidson and Brompton motorbikes via the Garuda Indonesia Airbus A330-900 Neo aircraft is still waiting for the ongoing legal process.
"Concerning Brompton and Harley, we, from the DJKN, especially from the Auction Directorate, are still waiting for a legal process to be carried out," said Director of Auction at the Ministry of Finance's Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) Joko Prihanto as quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 9.
Therefore, Joko stated that his party could not rush to auction off these items as the legal process was still ongoing.
However, he confirmed that if it was time to submit the auction, his party would immediately serve and process it properly.
"The point is whenever it is time for the auction and the auction is submitted, we will definitely be in the auction ranks of the DJKN, especially the KPKNL, immediately serve and process it," said Joko.
Previously, on Friday 6 December 2019, the Ministry of Finance's Director General of State Assets, Isa Rachmatarwata, explained that his party could auction off the confiscated goods if there was a decision from DJBC.
The auction can also be conducted if the motorbike parts costing hundreds of millions of rupiah and Brompton bikes are legally declared legally available for sale in Indonesia.
"That was confiscated by Customs and Excise. There will be a stipulation from Customs like what. (If) it is confiscated, confiscated, it means that it is designated as state property," he said.
