PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo explained, PLN continues to provide various clean energy service options to answer industrial needs throughout the country. Through REC, PLN distributes electricity based on New and Renewable Energy (EBT) which is recognized internationally for all customers, including industry.
"We are committed to providing clean energy to support the creation of green industry in Indonesia. Through REC, customers can participate in campaigning for the energy transition from fossil energy-based to cleaner energy," Darmawan told the media, Wednesday, March 1.
Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit (UID Jakarta Raya) Doddy B. Meanwhile, dias Sime Darby Health Care absorbed 2,400 units or the equivalent of 2,400 MWh of clean energy from REC.
Doddy said PLN is ready to meet the needs of industrial customers in Jakarta and its surroundings who want to switch to clean energy. Through REC, industrial products are able to meet sustainability aspects in the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
"For corporate customers, of course, this REC can be a quick and easy solution to get energy from EBT, which used to be only overseas, now PLN can provide an international standard REC," said Doddy.
"Sustainability is one of the pillars of Frisian Flag's business. Not only welfare for stakeholders, but also responsibility for the environment," said Berend Van Wel.
CEO banky Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH), Peter Hong explained that the company's move to absorb PLN's REC to realize the company's standards as a company that meets sustainability aspects and supports climate improvement through a transition to clean energy.
"Rec. PLN's certified electricity subscription is part of RSDH's strategy to encourage improvement in fighting global climate change in a sustainable manner, providing the best and responsible service, and having an impact on improving patient health," said Peter Hong.
REC is a collaboration product of PLN and Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA), which is proof of ownership of international standard certificates for electricity production generated from renewable energy plants.
This REC from PLN uses an electronic tracking system from APX TIGRs located in California, United States, to ensure that once the certificate is issued, it cannot be purchased or sold to other parties. The entire process has also been verified to meet international standards.
