Upset That The Goat Is Often Dragged By A Tiger, A Man In East Acehuri Meat With Insecticide Poison
The East Aceh Police arrested a goat owner for allegedly sprinkling poison on his goat which was eaten by a Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae).As a result of this poison, the death of one individual protected animal in the interior of East Aceh Regency.Head of the East Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Arif Sukmo Wibowo said the perpetrator had the initials SY (38), a resident of Krueng Baung Hamlet, Peunaron Lama Village, Peunaron District, East Aceh Regency."SY was arrested after admitting to sowing poison on his goat which had been eaten by a tiger. The tiger was found dead in SY's garden in Peunaron Lama Village, Peunaron District, East Aceh Regency," said Arif Sukmo Wibowo in East Aceh, Antara, Tuesday, February 28.Previously, he said the Leuser Conservation Forum (FKL) team received a report that four goats died because they were eaten by tigers in the Peunaron Lama area, on Tuesday at around 15.10 WIB.Then, the community together with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) team, FKL and village officials moved to the goat location which was reported dead on Wednesday (23/2)."They went to the location to determine whether the livestock died because they were eaten by a tiger or for other reasons. When they were about to bury the livestock, they found the tiger carcass not far from the goat pen," he said.Furthermore, said Arif Sukmo Wibowo, the joint team searched the location where the tiger carcass was found to determine the cause of death of the protected animal. From the search, plastic bags were found containing pest poison or insecticides."Based on these findings, the BKSDA reported to the East Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit. After receiving the information, we deployed a team to investigate the death of a tiger suspected of being poisoned," he said.Based on the initial investigation, the goat was eaten by the tiger belonging to SY. The team searched for SY's whereabouts and information was obtained that he was at his brother's house in Rantau Peureulak, East Aceh Regency.Then, the team moved to SY's house and arrested him on Monday (27/2). Furthermore, the team took SY to the East Aceh Police for further investigation. Based on the examination, SY admitted that he had planted poison pests in the carcass of the goat that the tiger had eaten.SY admitted that he was annoyed because his livestock were eaten by tigers, so he sprinkled pest poison on his goat carcass, he said."For his actions, SY is suspected of violating Article 21 Paragraph (2) letter a in conjunction with Article 40 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 5 Year 1990 concerning the conservation of biological natural resources and their ecosystems," said Arif.
