Bus Driver Becomes A Suspect In A Deadly Accident On The Magetan Toll Road That Kills 4 People
JAKARTA - The Magetan Police have named a bus driver as a suspect in a bus accident with a truck at KM 595-B of the Solo-Kertosono Toll Road in the Madiun-Ngawi section of Solo, which entered the Jeruk Village area, Kartoharjo District, Magetan Regency, East Java, which caused four deaths.
"The driver with the initials H from Bandar Lampung has been named a suspect in the accident that killed four passengers on the toll road entering the Magetan Regency KM 595-B area," said Magetan Police Chief AKBP Festo Ari Permana in his statement in Magetan, reported by Antara, Friday, January 8.
According to him, he had fled to his brother's house in Boyolali, Central Java. When the officer did the TKP, the person concerned was not at the location and there was only a backup driver.
H was named a suspect based on the information from a backup bus driver named I Putu Suastika, a resident of Buleleng Regency, Bali, and a truck driver who was hit by the name of Hariyadi (61), a resident of Kedungwaru Tulungagung, East Java.
Currently suspect H is being held at the Magetan Police Headquarters. The suspect is deemed to have violated Article 310 paragraph 4 of UULAJ Number 22 of 2009 because it resulted in the death of people and Article 312 of UULAJ Number 22 of 2009 for not reporting the incidents of accidents experienced by the threat of imprisonment of up to nine years.
As is known, the Singa Putra Raja AKAP Bus heading for Bali-Palembang with police number BE-7061-IU carrying dozens of passengers was involved in an accident with a truck with police number B-9975-BYZ at Kilometer 595-B, Solo-Kertosono Toll Road, Madiun-Ngawi, Solo on Thursday, January 7 at around 04.00 WIB, entered the village of Jeruk, Kartoharjo District, Magetan Regency, East Java.
The cause of the accident was allegedly because the bus driver H (35) from Bandar Lampung was sleepy, so he lost his concentration and could not keep his vehicle going and hit the back of a truck that was traveling in the direction in front of him.
After crashing, the bus stopped in a slow lane and the truck stopped at the shoulder of the road. As a result of this incident four people died and several people were injured and were treated at RSI Attin Husada Ngawi.
There were four victims who died in the accident, namely Suswati (53), a woman from Berasan Makmur Village, Tanjung Raya District, Mesuji Regency, Lampung, Raisa Aqila (7), a woman from Ibul Besar Village, Pamulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency. , South Sumatra.
Then Wayan Raihan (13), a male resident of Tania Makmur Village, Lampung Jaya District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, and Dewa Ketut Sumbu, male resident of Rajawali Village, Bandar Surabaya District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung.
The victims were bus passengers, while there were no victims from the truck drivers. Meanwhile, the condition of the bus vehicle was badly damaged at the front and the truck was damaged at the rear.
