Exodus Prepares A New Album That Is Heavy, Fast, Brutal And Full Of Violence

JAKARTA - In a new video uploaded to the YouTube channel Toxic Vault Zetro, Exocus frontman Steve "Zetro" Souza confirmed that the band's upcoming album, Persona Non Grata, will be released this summer via Nuclear Blast.

It will be the follow-up to Blood In Blood Out (2014), which was the first release of the San Francisco Bay Area thrash horde since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes. The album also marks the return of Souza, who previously led Exodus from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

In the video, Souza discusses the musical direction in Persona Non Grata. He said that Exodus fans would not be disappointed.

"This album is very heavy, fast, brutal, full of violence. The lyrics are very deep and very heavy. (Guitarist) Gary Holt wrote some very good compositions on the theme of these lyrics. And the whole band, as a band, performed very well in terms of We are all very hungry. We are very excited, "said Souza.

"We have Gary again, and we know that he will not be going on tour (with Slayer) anytime soon, so we know that this will be a very important record. And you will hear it when the album is finally released."

Persona Non Grata was recorded in a studio on Lake Almanor, California and involved Steve Lagudi as an engineer. The production was done by Exodus and the mixing was handled by Andy Sneap.

The album will feature guest musician, former Exodus guitarist Rick Hunolt. This man was involved in writing famous Exodus songs such as A Lesson In Violence and Deliver Us to Evil.
