FPI Cars Take Action Awaiting Police, Komnas HAM; There Are Indications For Fighting

JAKARTA - Commissioner and Head of the Investigation Team of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Choirul Anam said the two cars of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) could actually escape from police surveillance before the shooting incident on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

However, this step was not taken. Two cars, the Toyota Avanza Silver and Chevrolete Spin chose to wait for a car belonging to the police.

"The two FPI cars managed to make a distance and had the opportunity to run away and get away. However, (the two cars, red) took action to wait and finally they met again with the car of the K 9143 EL officer and two other cars, namely B 1278 KJD and B 1739. PWQ, "he said in a press conference which was broadcast online, Friday, January 8.

Furthermore, based on Komnas HAM's investigation, there was an action chasing, grazing and shaking each other, and shooting between the cars carrying the FPI troops and the officers' cars which took place along West Karawang International Road to KM 49 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

This finding later came to the attention of Komnas HAM. Because according to them, the car the FPI paramilitary was carrying did not wait for the officers' car and immediately fled.

This is also reinforced by the existence of expert in-depth conducted by forensic psychologists. The findings of these experts, there is a tendency to prepare to defend and fight against the incident.

"We feel the need to call a forensic psychologist and say that this is the base line for fighting. If we didn't wait earlier, the KM 50 incident would not have happened because this was just the tailing,"

"The tailing can be finished if you just leave it. The name is being followed, you don't need to wait, then you don't need any kind of heroism and so on," he concluded.
