Street Vendors Behind Tarakan Dirazia Hospital, Satpol PP: Looks Kumuh
JAKARTA - A number of street vendors in two locations in the Gambir sub-district have been brought under control by the Central Jakarta Satpol PP. The control was carried out because many complaints from residents were disturbed by the rampant activities of traders.
"We are controlling this because of complaints from the public. We have ordered many food and beverage traders from Tarakan Hospital," said Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Tumbur Parluhutan Purba to reporters at the location, Tuesday, February 28.
Purba said the complaint had to be followed up because it made the area look shabby.
"We have to follow up considering that the city's beautification looks shabby," he said.
Meanwhile, Kasatpol PP Gambir District, Delky Siregar added, in the Gambir area there are two points of control location. The first location behind Tarakan Hospital was a building that had been vacated by traders.
"We only dismantled the stalls that have been vacated. In addition, in Kebon Kelapa there are also 4 stalls of traders, we also order them," he said.
Delky said that the items that were brought under control were immediately taken to the Satpol PP warehouse in Cakung, East Jakarta. In the future, the location will also be guarded by Satpol officers to prevent the return of the traders.
"Later we will place officers at that location, we can also mobilely monitor the locations that have been put in order," he said.
