DKI Pemprov Officially Closed Golden Crown Discotheque

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) officially revokes the Tourism Business Registration Certificate (TDUP) of PT Mahkota Aman Sentosa as the owner of the Golden Crown discotheque business. The reason is, there are findings of hundreds of visitors who positively use drugs at the discotheque.

Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, stated that as of Friday, February 7, the Golden Crown discotheque was declared no longer allowed to operate and would soon be sealed.

"TDUP has been officially revoked. As of February 7, 2020, the Golden Crown discotheque is confirmed to no longer be active," said Cucu in a written statement received by VOI, Saturday, February 8.

According to him, when there is a drug discovery, it means that there is negligence on the part of the management. "What is clear is that this was a breach of management. They actually had to do body checking, but they didn't," said Cucu.

The management's obligation to supervise drug use is stated in the Governor of DKI Regulation Number 18 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Tourism Business.

In Article 38, it is mandated that every tourism entrepreneur is obliged to supervise and report in the event of a transaction and or use / consumption of narcotics and other psychotropic substances in the environment where his business occurs.

Then, in Article 54 Paragraph (1) it is stated that every tourism company management proven to have allowed the circulation, sale and use of narcotics and / or other psychotropic substances at the location where the tourism business is under one management is subject to revocation of the Tourism Business Registration Certificate (TDUP). live.

However, in the revocation of the Golden Crown discotheque permit the DKI Provincial Government uses Article 56, not based on an official recommendation letter from the DKI Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP).

Article 56 states that the management of a tourism company that is proven to have violated Article 38 based on findings in the field, information sourced from the mass media, or public complaints by allowing gambling activities to occur at the location where the tourism business is under one management shall immediately revoke TDUP.

"Based on the news from the media, there are strong indications that there are violations of the abuse and neglect of the use of narcotics by visitors at his business premises," wrote Cucu.

This statement contradicts what he mentioned earlier. On Thursday, February 6, Cucu said that his party was waiting for an official statement from the DKI BNNP before revoking the Golden Crown discotheque TDUP.

"Basically there must be an official written statement, not an oral statement. Anyway, if the BNNP report states there is (drug use), then we will close it," said Cucu.

As is known, the BNNP held a raid at the Golden Crown Discotheque, West Jakarta, on Thursday, January 6 in the morning. There were 184 urine examinations that were carried out. As a result, as many as 107 people tested positive for methamphetamine and ecstasy drugs, with details of 63 men and 44 women.

"Currently, all visitors who are indicated to be sensitive to using drugs are brought to the DKI BNNP for further examination and follow-up assessments," said Deputy for Eradication of the National Narcotics Agency, Arman Depari.
