Corey Taylor, Dave Navarro And Taylor Hawkins Ready To Kick Off David Bowie's Life Celebration Concert
JAKARTA - Ground Control, a supergroup featuring Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Stone Sour, Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters, and Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney from Janes's Addiction, will be performing in a streaming concert titled A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day! this weekend.
Produced by longtime band member David Bowie, Mike Garson, in collaboration with Stacey Sher and Kerry Brown with Rolling Live Studios, A Bowie Celebration kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 9 Indonesian time.
Hosted by Garson, this streaming concert will bring together a variety of artists who work with Bowie, or are greatly influenced by and his work, to celebrate his 74th birthday and the weekend of the fifth anniversary of his death.
This will be the second time Taylor, Hawkins, Navarro and Chaney have performed together. The quartet previously covered the song Man In The Box by Alice In Chains when AIC (Art Institute of Chicago) received the award for Founder of the Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) on December 1 last year.
The newest musicians confirmed to join the event are the vocalists of The Pretty Reckless, followed by Taylor Momsen, Boy George, Ricky Gervais and Gary Barlow.
The line-up of musicians who had previously been confirmed to appear included Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Bowie's good friend and Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman, Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Perry Farrell (Janes's Addiction), Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Grammy-winning singer Macy Gray, and Ian Astbury (The Cult).
Then there's Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz), Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones), Corey Glover (Living Color), rocker Tony Lena Hall and phenomenal vocalist Judith Hill (Grammy winner for 20 Feet From Stardom).
