East Java Regional Police Thwarts The Smuggling Of 6 Kg Of Sabu In A Thermos Backpack For Madura Purposes
SURABAYA - The East Java Regional Police's Narcotics Research Directorate in collaboration with Tanjung Perak Customs and Excise, succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of six kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia to Madura.
The police smuggling illegal goods secured four suspects, namely, Sanidin, Abdin, Siti Hotijeh, and Deddy Syahputra. The four suspects are in one network, one suspect is a drug dealer from Malaysia to Madura, and three as a drug recipient.
Director of the East Java Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Kombes Hanny Hidayat, said the suspect Deddy Syahputra sent crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia to Surabaya to be sent to Madura using a mine system placed at the Prime Royal Hotel. The drugs are stored in two black backpacks.
"We got information from the public that there were drug transactions, which were carried out by means of a mine system, so that members drove to the location," said Hanny, at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters, Surabaya, Friday, January 8.
In addition to information from the public, Ditresnarkoba also received a report from the Customs and Excise of Tanjung Perak Surabaya that the smuggling of drugs was put in a thermos, but the smuggling was ultimately thwarted after an X-Ray was carried out.
"The report finally developed and secured the two suspects Sanidin and Abdin," he said.
Meanwhile, the suspects Sanidin and Abdin were secured at Jalan Diponegoro, Sampang District, Sampang Regency, on December 7.
"We are developing drug trafficking from Malaysia to Madura. After arresting the suspect Deddy, members again arrested two suspects in Sampang, Madura," he said.
Apart from that, members of the Ditresnarkoba on December 7 also secured another suspect. This time it was a housewife, namely Siti Hotijeh, who was arrested in front of a car repair shop on Jalan Desa Banyusangka, Tanjungbumi District, Bangkalan Regency, Madura.
As a result of his actions, the suspect is subject to Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary to Article 113 paragraph (2) subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) Jo. Article 132 paragraph (1) RI Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
